Playlist Update

My playlist is always a mix of various genres. I find it better to to listen to different genres depending on whatever I feel like listening to at the moment. Right now, while I’m typing, I’ve got the soundtrack from the movie “Step Up 3” playing. I saw the movie yesterday and the I’ve got some of the music stuck in my head. Especially the song “Bust your Windows“, the one where they do the tango.

Okay, so about my current playlist. I am not exactly a Daughtry fan,and by that I mean I have heard maybe two or three of their songs. That said,  I like their new song. Its got good music. But I have to say the story-line for the video is a little stupid. A guy going after a girl just to give back a mobile phone?? And its not like he calls out/taps on the shoulder and says “Hey, you forgot your mobile”: there’s this whole action/chase sequence involved. Okay, I get it that the girl is supposed to be some spy or something but still, all this for a phone? Anyway, here is the video and links to some other songs on my playlist.

Daughtry – Outta My Head

James Blunt – 1973

Dev ft Enrique Iglesias – Naked

Shane Ward – No Promises`

Jason Mraz – 93 Million Miles

Twirl – It Girl

Movie Review: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

I finally got around to watching this movie. I have to say this is one of the few book-adaptations that i have seen which actually does justice to the book. The acting is truly superb. If you have read my book review then you know that I LOVE Lisbeth’s character. When I saw the Swedish movie I thought that Noomi Rapace was awesome and no one can be a better ‘Lisbeth’. So I was  pretty curious to see Rooney Mara’s acting. I’m happy to say she was just as good.

For those of you who have no idea about the movie/novel, let me give a little outline of the story. This is crime- thriller based on the novel of the same name by Stieg Larsson, following Mikael Blomkvist’s attempt to solve the mystery surrounding  the disappearance of a girl 40 years ago.

Mikael Blomkvist, a Journalist an part-owner of Millenium magazine is facing a libel case for mentioning the shady side of a businessman named Hans-Erik Wennerstrom. He looses the case and his savings. Henrik Vanger approaches him with a proposition. Solve the mystery about the disappearance of his niece and in return he would provide proof about Wennerstrom’s shady character to help Blomkvist. The Vanger family are millionaires once owning various businesses but the family as a whole can be described shortly as a dysfunctional and no ones seems to talk to one another. When Blomkvist asks for an assistant he is informed of a brilliant researcher, Lisbeth Salander, who actually did the background check on him for the Vanger family. Together they uncover a series of murders that might be the work of a serial killer and  disturbing secrets about some of the Vanger family members. The movie also follows Lisbeth’s life as a form of sub-plot.  When you read the book you get a definite mental picture of Lisbeth and I liked the fact that the movie portrayal of her character is the same as i pictured when reading. The ending of the movie is different from that of the book but it doesn’t spoil the movie in any way.

I don’t think i need to explain the movie in detail because between the book and movie and everything else surrounding this story almost everyone knows what its about. The cast was really good. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.Cant wait to watch the next part. If you haven’t seen it yet it is a movie worth watching.

Comedies That I Can Watch Again & Again

Theres nothing like a good comedy movie to get you relaxed. Hmmm.. May be there are a few other things as well..a good book, Ice-cream, chocolate cake, a nice day at the beach…. Anyway.. Back to comedy movies..

I like watching them because it shows that there are worse goofballs out there than us. I’m not taking any names, you can figure out if the”us” applies to you. I believe there’s nothing wrong with being a bit silly sometimes. Without us the world would be one big, boring place.

I’m sure that all of you can name atleast one comedy movie that can make you laugh even if you have seen it twice, trice or more times before; or atleast watch again when you are too lazy to find a DVD or download something. The list of movies that I’ve watched a lot but havent got bored of are here. Let me know if any of them are on your list.

Good comedies leave you laughing like this!

I’m sure there are more movies that belong in the list. But silly me can’t remember them right now..

Let me know the names of the movies that you would like to add to the list.

My Birthday, A Thunderstorm and Lots Of Work!

That kind of wraps up my whole week. First part, It was my birthday. Yours truly is now 21. There was no breaking of tradition for this birthday either. Just like every other birthday it went quietly and without a fuss (Just that way i like it).

Second part, The thunderstorm. It managed to knock out the power-lines and sent us back to something similar to the stone age.No power meant no T.V and no A.C. And since the storm decided to hit in the evening it meant we spent the night without any light so that ruled out chances of reading too. And in case you are wondering then the answer is No, we don’t have an emergency lamp and we never seem to have any candles around when its needed. But I’ve always liked thunderstorms, especially lightning, so it was not all that bad. I tried to get some good photos but trying to get a good shot on my 2MP camera seems next to impossible. I managed to get a few photos on which i want to try some editing and see if it gets better.

On to the last part, Work!! I had to erase every thought i had about my schedule being tough before. Well, the truth is there was not that much work but it just took more time than usual. No complains though, I like my work and its been a fun week.

So thats the round up of my week so far. And I’m happy to say I enjoyed it. Well not the part where i spent hours without electricity but, you get the idea..

How was your week? Any special plans for the weekend?

Playlist Update

Before i post anymore book reviews, let me tell you about the songs i’ve listening to lately. Posting videos directly seems to be creating trouble so I’ll link the names to the videos.

What have you been listening to lately??
