Since I don’t have a job anymore I have returned to my old pass time of “sifting” through the cyber world for odd news. (Yup, you guessed right, I really have nothing else to do!!). So here’s a short post of a news piece I found.
This piece I found today (in Yahoo) really makes me wonder what it would be like to have a luck like this guy. The post is about a guy from Wisconsin who found a 1.2 Carat Diamond while sifting for gold in the mud from a friend’s well. He looks for gold and finds a diamond. Now isn’t that luck or what?
All the time we spend playing in the mud and what did we get! A big nothing, if you don’t count the mud stains and slime.
This made me wonder what i would do if it were me in that situation… I’m not that big on the jewelry front or keep it for a rainy day thing. So guess i would just sell it, instant gratification and money to enjoy things that I do like.
What do you think you would do??
Here’s the full article, if you want to read: Man finds 1.2-carat diamond in mud from friend’s well
Now, I ‘ll get back to my form of sifting.
Its time for me to start writing again!
First of all a short description of what all has happened over the past few months. After a few failed attempts to comeback to blogging i decided to take a break till 30th September. My work schedule and exams and everything else made it hard for me sit down and write something. I tried to post some in between(few of the above mentioned failed attempts) but wasn’t happy with anything i wrote and ended up deleting them. Now my work schedule is going to clear up because i’ll be leaving my current office soon in search of greener pastures(hopefully there is such a thing). Even though it was tiring and crazy working there i enjoyed it(most of the time). I still have a week or so left before i officially become an ex-employee.
I have read some really good novels over the past few months and will be writing the reviews of those in the weeks to come. And for the music lovers, I have some posts reserved for the music i have been listening to.
When i started this blog last September, it was more of a experiment to see whether i can write anything at all. The only experience of writing i had till then was schoolwork. It’s still too early to call it a success since i haven’t blogged for months now. But i’m happy with whatever i have managed to write.Blogging here and sharing my posts with u all made me realize how much I like writing and i want to continue doing that. And a big Thank You from me to all the people who read my posts.
That’s all for this post my side. Now, your turn to add something to it;
What has been going on in your life for the past few months? I would love to know how you all are, what books you have read, which new song is stuck in your head.. anything you want to share is welcome so do leave a comment.
Till the next post..
Good bye from me and hope you have a good time.
That kind of wraps up my whole week. First part, It was my birthday. Yours truly is now 21. There was no breaking of tradition for this birthday either. Just like every other birthday it went quietly and without a fuss (Just that way i like it).
Second part, The thunderstorm. It managed to knock out the power-lines and sent us back to something similar to the stone age.No power meant no T.V and no A.C. And since the storm decided to hit in the evening it meant we spent the night without any light so that ruled out chances of reading too. And in case you are wondering then the answer is No, we don’t have an emergency lamp and we never seem to have any candles around when its needed. But I’ve always liked thunderstorms, especially lightning, so it was not all that bad. I tried to get some good photos but trying to get a good shot on my 2MP camera seems next to impossible. I managed to get a few photos on which i want to try some editing and see if it gets better.
On to the last part, Work!! I had to erase every thought i had about my schedule being tough before. Well, the truth is there was not that much work but it just took more time than usual. No complains though, I like my work and its been a fun week.
So thats the round up of my week so far. And I’m happy to say I enjoyed it. Well not the part where i spent hours without electricity but, you get the idea..
How was your week? Any special plans for the weekend?
How have you all been?? Its been a really long time since I posted anything. I’ve really missed the blogosphere and the friends I’ve made. And I’m really sorry I couldn’t read your posts. I attempted to post once or twice but for some reason they just remained as drafts. Today I made myself sit down and write this post, tweak it till it sounds okay and post it.
Last two months have been pretty hectic. It took some time for me to prepare a sort of schedule for things.Things are looking better, now that i have found a rhythm to life( i think that’s the word).
My internship is going great but I still have a lot to learn. I’ve made some good friends in my office who make the 9 hour work day much more easier to go through.
(P.S , My boss still hasn’t turned into a demon.) So all-in-all, everything is pretty good on the work front.
I was supposed to write a review on “Cather in the Rye” ages ago but it will have to wait a bit more. I will post the reviews of books that I read in the last two months after a while. The list also includes “The Hunger Games” , ” The Gods of Asphalt” , “Hell’s Corner”.
I just finished reading “ The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho which I choose as part of the reading list for my ‘ Back to The Classics Challenge – 2012’. I guess I’ll (re)start my blog with that review, which i’ll be posting in a day or two.
See you soon!
You may have noticed that just after declaring to post atleast once a week I disappeared for two! So no need to say my plan failed. Will have to work on keeping up with my plans.
I do have a good news to share with you. I got the chance to join one of the best firms in the city for my internship! And since it is one of the best, there will be a LOT of work for me to do in the next three years. So, I guess its better I blog about this while it still remains a “good news”. Its looks like a good office and the boss doesn’t seem like a demon (yet!). Two main reasons why I’m excited about this job; one) its a paid internship and two) I dont have to sit in the same office the whole time since my job involves going to the clients offices.
I’ve got some more posts lined up for this week and the next. I have a few more chapters to finish in “The Catcher In The Rye”, after which I’ll be posting my review. I’ve also got some new songs from my playlist to share with you. For now, here is the song that’s been on replay for the past week.
Till the next post, Good bye and Hope you have a good week.
